What You Actually See in 2 Hours on the Water
The route runs along the full coastline of Capri aboard a classic wooden Sorrento boat, built low and open so nothing blocks your view. You will pass the Faraglioni, three dramatic rock stacks rising straight out of the sea that have been photographed a million times but hit differently from water level. The lighthouse at Punta Carena marks the island's wild southwestern tip, where the water turns a deeper shade of blue. From there the boat works back along the coast to the White Grotto and the Green Grotto, two sea caves whose colour changes with the light and the angle of the sun. Your English-speaking skipper narrates throughout and knows exactly when to slow down and when to cut the engine so you can listen to the waves inside the caves.
The Swimming Stop and the Happy Hour
Partway through the tour the skipper anchors in a calm bay and you jump in. The water around Capri is some of the clearest in the Mediterranean, the kind where you can see the bottom at five or six metres without goggles. There is no time pressure; this is a proper stop, not a quick dip. Back on board, the crew sets out snacks and cold drinks for a happy hour with the coast still in view. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are both included, and bottled water is available throughout the trip. Note that snorkelling equipment is not provided, so bring your own mask if you want to explore below the surface.
Group Size, Meeting Point and Practical Details
Small group means small group. The boat carries a limited number of passengers so the experience never feels crowded and you are not competing for space on the bow. The tour lasts 120 minutes and the meeting point is Marina Grande, Capri's main harbour. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not included in the price, so factor in your ferry crossing from Sorrento, Naples or Positano when planning your day. The professional skipper speaks English and handles everything once you are on the water. Gratuities are at your own discretion and are not included in the ticket price.
